Language Field is London-based musician and producer Paul Cheshire, previously releasing tracks as The Elusive Double, receiving radio play from Trevor Jackson on NTS, Ashley Beedle on Gilles Petersons’ Worldwide FM & Tom Ravenscroft on BBC6 Music among others.

In 2023 Language Field debuted on Buried Treasure Records with a digital and limited 10 inch vinyl run of ‘Fearful Symmetry’, described in Shindig Magazine as ‘A synthetic quilt of sound favouring the abstract and otherworldy. Pulsing electronica with reverie inducing powers’. This was followed by remixes of The Black Albumen and most recently ‘Night Drive’ by Pulselovers on Castles In Space, ahead of an E.P. on Astra Solaria Records on limited 7 inch vinyl.

‘At Odds’ is the latest Language Field release, a collection of clattering breaks, eerie synths, dusty 80s echoes and chrystaline peaks available exclusively as a digital only album.

Any profit made will be going to homeless youth charity Centrepoint (centrepoint.org.uk).

REALLY wish I'd subscribed sooner to be able to enjoy this on vinyl! Curious the artist cited 12 Monkeys and not La Jetee as one of the key inspirations. For me, this has a more somber, introspective and timeless feel more akin to La Jetee than 12 Monkeys (though I also am a big fan of Terry Gilliam). Gorgeous music and you get the bonus of a list of excellent movies to enjoy (another note to the artist: Time Crimes is also a good film to watch). Now to somehow procure a vinyl copy...
